Mr. Philadelphia Leather 2008 |
Now on top of having a boy and a husband, I have a sash wife-- the fabulous (and
tall!) Ms. Carlota Ttendant! |
It was my honor (and terror) to compete in the Mr. Philadelphia Leather competition
over Philly leather weekend, Nov. 9-11. There were four men vying for the title, and we marvelled backstage and how different and unique we all were, physically and personality-wise, and what different qualities we could bring. Although the contest rules forbid me from offering sexual favors to secure my win, I'd like to fantasize that the judges put out feelers about who does what to whom, and in a daring move, opted out of bestowing the sash to yet another versatile man and, instead, decided to give a top a chance. I look forward to the year ahead, including showing off the sash at MAL and competing in Chicago at IML. But I'm even more eager to work with Carlota (she's not only got gams, but a great savvy for fundraising and entertaining), and with first runner up Andy Liu, to better connect with members of the community, to building bridges, and to increasing women participation. My deepest appreciation to the weekend's judges: John Loesch, Mr. Philadelphia Leather 2007 Chuck Nankivell, Mr. New Jersey Leather 2007 Boy Robi, Ms. New Jersey Leather 2007 Rick Weber, Mr. Eagle NYC 2007 Joe Hurchick, Mr. Eagle DC 2007 Philadelphia Leather Weekend was presented by the Bike Stop and recon.com. Co-sponsors for the weekend were Tavern on Camac, LeatherWerks of Fort Lauderdale, Passional Boutique, Flying Fish Brewery, Smirnoff, and HotOlderMale.com. Prizes were generously donated by Passional Boutique, Infinite Body Piercing, JT’s Stockroom, 12th Street Gym, and Modern Eye.
